The National Revenue Board of Bangladesh reports that Nabil Group is constructing new facilities to enhance production capacity. In the last fiscal year (2023–24), Nabil Group of Companies acquired things worth in the billions of dollars. In that timeframe, the aggregate import value of the group amounted to $1.21 billion. The group is presently a member of the $100 million or $1 billion club. This represents a significant milestone for a company that originated in the underdeveloped region of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

In the first eight months of this year, Nabil Group represented 24.47 percent of the country’s total wheat imports, 49.35 percent of lentil imports, and 56.83 percent of pea imports. The Nabil Group of Companies makes substantial contributions to the market through the importation of products and the creation of specific consumer goods. The organization has established itself as a premier company in the nation for rice production. It is currently the second largest rice producer in Bangladesh. The group’s daily capacity for rice production is 1,364 metric tonnes. In contrast, City Group possesses a production capacity of 1,728 metric tonnes. Consequently, it is clear that the Nabil Group has made significant contributions to the production of consumer goods in Bangladesh.

It is also contributing to fulfill the demand of beef and milk in local market of Bangladesh. Naba Dairy and Cattle Farm, a subsidiary of Nabil Group of Industries, is determined to produce nutritious cow’s milk. This farm, situated in the Mahindra region of Paba Upazila on the periphery of Rajshahi city, has garnered national acclaim as the favored source of animals like cow and goat among purchasers since 2020. The farm currently possesses around 2,500 superior-breed cows, which satisfies the demands of the populace for meat, milk, and yogurt. Naba Dairy and Cattle Farm produces 1,700 liters of cow’s milk daily. This milk quality signifies the finest milk available in the market. They also exercise particular diligence during the milking process. The risk of bacterial contamination during hand milking necessitates the use of automatic devices for milk collection. Subsequent to a designated duration, the milk is chilled and thereafter readied for distribution. Consequently, their milk is entirely nutritious, superior in quality and significance. They consistently priorities customer’s advantage, resulting in the widespread reputation of their cow’s milk throughout the nation.

The present daily production capacity is 200 tones, with intentions to increase it to 400 tones in the near future. The mill seeks to augment its production capacity by implementing new technology and is advancing towards international market entry. Nabil Group has also been maintaining its quality while processing the oil so that nutrients are ensured. Saidur Rahman, Manager of Nabil Edible Oil Mill, said that, 

“We are making soybean and mustard oil by following the strictest quality standards. Our daily production potential is 200 tones right now, but we want to soon double that. Our main goal is to make healthy, high-quality food oil. “

Simultaneously, Nabil group has done numerous financial activity in this year. During the specified period, they imported approximately fifty percent of the country’s lentils. At present, Bangladesh has imported 657,000 tonnes of legumes. 49.35% of the total was imported by Nabil Group. City Group is the second-largest dal importer, accounting for 17.44% of importation. 8.90 percent of the pulses were imported by the BSM Group of Chittagong. Various government and private entities imported 24.31% of the pulses.

Nabil Group is also responsible for the importation of over fifty percent of peas, in addition to their extensive importation of consumer products. The country imported a total of 539,000 tones of peas during the first eight months of the year. Additionally, 56.83% of the total legumes were imported. Peas were imported by Akiz Group at a rate of 13.67%. The remaining 29.50 percent of peas were imported by other governmental and private institutions.

1.455 million tones of soybean meal were imported into the country from January to September of this year. Nabil Group was the third greatest importer, representing 15.84 percent of the total imports. Meghna Group was the foremost importer of soybean powder. This organization imported 23.43 percent of soybean powder. City Group held a 20.41 percent stake.
